Heartland Religion

Those of you who used the heartland message boards in the "old days" BY (Before Yahoo)  will remember the  "Heartland Religion Board "
Religion with the family in mind.
Not for us the intellectual discussions of the Athens neighbourhood, but testimony of practical  faith and search for faith.
I'll start things off light...

In an ancient country three wise men were in a cave at night.
One man stood at the cave entrance gazing up at the stars, seeking the meaning of life.
Another was further back in the cave, reading the ancient scrolls of their religion by the light of  a fire.
The third man was wiser than the other two and spoke,
"Anyone like a cup of tea ?"

So what keeps you going, what's your "cup of tea"
Is religion just a "crutch" for those who are too weak to manage ?
Does you religion keep you going ?
or are you able to manage much better on your
own ?
"A man travels much faster on his own, providing he knows where he is going"

A couple of visitors to the United Kingdom were touring the English countryside when, not  knowing exactly where they were, they stopped their car in a little village to ask directions.  They asked a yokel (country man) leaning against a wall,
"Where does that lane go ?", pointing down a lane to the left.  The yokel replied, "Don't know"
The visitors repeated the question for each of the other lanes going out of the village  and got the same reply.
Frustrated the driver exclaimed, "You don't know much !!"
"Maybe not," said the yokel, "but I ain't lost"

May this be the first of some interesting postings.
