"I promise to pay the bearer on demand the sum of Five Pounds For the Governers and Company of the Bank of England G.B.A.Kentfield Chief Cashier" 

Each day of the week you trust Mr Kentfield that your Five Pound notes will be worth Five Pounds. 

Now why do you trust Mr Kentfield ? 

I suggest three reasons:- 
A person visiting this country will obtain British currency. The person may never have seen the Pound notes or coins before but he will accept the word of his Travel Agent that they are the genuine article. 
A person may trust the honesty and integrity of the Bank of England, the organisation Mr Kentfield represents. 
A person may have used Bank notes for some time and found that they meet their promise to be worth the number of pounds printed on them. 

Christians accept the Bible for similar reasons:- 
Some believe that Jesus is the Son of God because they have believed what other Christians have told them.. 
"They answered, 'believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved - you and your family.' Then they preached the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house.' (Acts Chapter 16 verse 31,32) 
Some Christians believe because they believe that the authority that the Bible represents is God. 
"All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults and giving instruction for right living," (2 Timothy Chapter 3 verse 16) 
Whilst others believe because they have found in everyday life that the promises of the Bible prove true. 
"Until now you have not asked anything in my name; ask and you will receive, so that your happiness may be complete." (John Chapter 16 verse 24) 

It is doubtful whether many of the readers will have met or will meet G.B.A.Kentfield but Christians would claim that they have met Jesus Christ. 

You too can meet with Jesus, receive forgiveness of your sins and be sure that you have eternal life. 

A suggested prayer asking Jesus into your life:- 
Lord Jesus, I am sorry I have been going my own way instead of your way. Thank you for dying to take away my sin. Please come into my life and make me the person you want me to be. Amen.
