PRAYER FOR THE WORKDAY
A PRAYER FOR THE WORKDAY
---author unknown---
Lord Jesus, as I enter this work place,
I bring your presence with me
Let me speak your peace and Your grace
in all I say
Bring your perfect order and mutual respect
into the atmosphere of this office.
I acknowledge your Lordship over all
that will be spoken, thought and decided,
and accomplished within these walls.
Lord Jesus, I thank you for the gifts
you have deposited in me.
I do not take them lightly,
but commit to using them responsibly and
well.
Give me a fresh supply of truth and beauty
on which to draw as I do my job.
Anoint my creativity, my ideas, and my
energy
so that even my smallest task may bring
You honour.
Lord, when I am confused, guide me.
When I am weary, energize me.
Lord, when I am burned out,
infuse me with the Light of your Holy
Spirit.
May the work that I do and the way that
I do it,
bring hope, life and courage
to all that I come in contact with today.
And, oh Lord, even in this day's most stressful
moments...
may I rest in You.
In Your strong and powerful name, Lord
Jesus Christ, I pray.
Amen.

--Bible Verses to Ponder--
Phil 4:4-9 (TLB)
{4} Always be full of joy in the Lord;
I say it again, rejoice!
{5} Let everyone see that you are unselfish
and considerate in all you do. Remember that the Lord is coming soon.
{6} Don't worry about anything; instead,
pray about everything;
tell God your needs, and don't forget
to thank him for his answers.
{7} If you do this, you will experience
God's peace,
which is far more wonderful than
the human mind can understand.
His peace will keep your thoughts and
your hearts quiet and at rest
as you trust in Christ Jesus.
{8} And now, brothers, as I close this
letter, let me say this one more thing:
Fix your thoughts on what is true and
good and right.
Think about things that are pure and lovely,
and dwell on the fine, good things in
others.
Think about all you can praise God for
and be glad about.
{9} Keep putting into practice all you
learned from me and saw me doing, and the God of peace will be with you.
Phil 1:20 (TLB)
For I live in eager expectation
and hope
that I will never do anything that will
cause me to be ashamed of myself
but that I will always be ready to speak
out boldly for Christ
while I am going through all these
trials here,
just as I have in the past;
and that I will always be an honor to Christ,
whether I live or whether I must die.
1 Tim 2:1-6 (KJV)
I exhort therefore, that, first of all,
supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and giving of thanks, be made for all
men;
{2} For kings, and for all that are in
authority;
that we may lead a quiet and peaceable
life
in all godliness and honesty.
{3} For this is good and acceptable
in the sight of God our Saviour;
{4} Who will have all men to be saved,
and to come unto the knowledge of the
truth.
{5} For there is one God,
and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus;
{6} Who gave himself a ransom for
all, to be testified in due time.
Phil 1:21 (KJV)
For to me to live is Christ, and to die
is gain.
