Dr X
Dr X came to our church this Sunday. For those of you who don't know of the evil Dr X, arch-enemy of Action man, he is a tall figure in vest, black trousers and army boots, he has a mohican hair-cut and his left arm has been replaced by a mechanical one.
As I said to Norma, one of the congregation, showing her my son's action figure:
"We allow anyone into this church for the Sunday service !"
She agreed.
Is Jesus for anyone, even the Dr Xs of this world ?
Yes !
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John3:16
Is there an accepted dress code for Sunday services ?
No there should not be.
"For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?" Jas:2:2 - 4
So whatever our past or present situation, God still loves us as much as he ever has.
He wants us to have fellowship with us each day and each Sunday, so we should not let anyone make us feel uncomfortable or we make others feel uncomfortable.
