Ixtheus Christian Devotionals

As christian parents, each of us tries to bring up our children in the "nuture and admonition of the Lord" . The very first concept taught in the Bible, and one we must pass on to our children is... 

"In the Beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Gen 1:1) 

Why is this subject of "origins" so crucial? Because this is the foundational truth of our Christian Faith. If we don't believe that God is all-powerful enough to create the heavens and the earth in 6 days, like he said, why then are we worshipping Him as God at all? If we can't trust what He has plainly stated in Genesis, and what Jesus Christ re-affirmed in His new testament teachings, then why should we believe Him about anything else. Do you see how crucial it is to have confidence in the entire sum of the teachings of the Bible, and not to throw away, for example, the "6-day creation" and a young earth and the Flood of Noah just because they are a little hard to believe? What about somebody rising from the dead? Isn't that a little hard to believe too? And yet the Bible states that both things happend, does it not? How can we believe in one and not the other?

One of my great frustrations is that having taught this timeless and precious truth to my children, the public schools (see footnote) come along and try to "unteach" belief in the Bible as being myth and foolishness. Even in kindergarten and all the way up through all the public educational system, evolutionary "doctrine" causes confusion and loss of faith in their young minds.  And doubting the very foundation of belief in God and the Bible will cause them life-long weaking of their christian walk, if not a turning away from Christ entirely. This is so unfair, and disgusting... tampering with the Faith of little innocents: and yet this is part of the worldly society in which we find ourselves. 

So as we send our children back into the lions' den each year, here is a little help from some excellent sources on creation science, that our kids can perhaps use to counter the false claims of evolutionists, and to show that God is indeed the Ultimate Scientist..The Creator of All That Is, and that you dont have to check your brain in at the door when you become a christian. Quite to the contrary, there is so little evidence (in fact, none) that evolution ever happend, that you actually are asked to check your brain at the door to accept evolution. There are actually way more scientific discoveries which actually support "intelligent design" of our earth and universe, and the world wide catastrophic Flood of Noah, than any  evidence  that supports random chance evolution from a big bang and millions of years of evolution, denying the existence or need for God.

As it says in Luke 19:37-40 (KJV) ...
And when he was come nigh, 
even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, 
the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice 
and praise God with a loud voice 
for all the mighty works that they had seen; {38} Saying, 

Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: 
peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. 

{39} And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, 
Master, rebuke thy disciples.
 {40} And he answered and said unto them, 
I tell you that, if these should hold their peace,
 the stones would immediately cry out.

Well, in a very literal way, the stones all over the world do cry out to give glory to God, to tell of His creation and the flood He sent to destroy it because of the sin of Adam and Eve. This record is preserved for all to see in the very rocks around us, if we but look at it objectively, with a truely unbiased mind.

The websites listed below will help you understand what the stones and many other natural scientific phenomena are crying out to tell us about God's handiwork in creation, even though the fallen world of God-haters tries to deceive itself that God does not exist.

What a UK reader understands by "public schools" in the UK are private schools that are funded by the parents of the pupils paying  fees ... Eton would be an example of a UK public school.
