Have you recovered from Christmas yet ?
You should have finished the Turkey by now and the mince pies, but have you recovered financially ?
Each year Christmas gets more and more expensive we spend all we have, and sometimes more on our credit cards. But that's alright we have plenty of time to pay off our debts, but what if we can't repay our debts well we have problems then.
Debt advisers at the C.A.B. (Citizens Advice Bureau) can offer help, but not for our biggest debt.
Christmas is the time our debts were "sorted".... I received a Christmas card this year on the cover it read;-
"He came to pay a debt He didn't owe...because we owed a debt we couldn't pay."
Jesus came to pay our debt of sin. Jesus did not sin, so he didn't have a debt, and our debt of sin, however small or large we view it we couldn't pay.
To use the words of those nice Mitchell boys on Eastenders it's been "sorted".
Jesus's "sorted" is much better for us. (Eastenders is a popular UK "soap opera", when the two "hard" brothers Grant and Phil Mitchell "sort out something" someone often ends up in hospital.)
"For by the death of Jesus Christ we are set free, that is our sins are forgiven." (Ephesians Chapter1 Verse7 GNB)
Enjoy Christmas everyday of the year with Jesus in your life !
